We are delighted to be exclusively assisting in the recruitment of a key role within the NHS in the North East at a time of considerable change within the sector.
The role comes at a time of major restructuring across the sector. As HR Business Partner, reporting directly to the Head of HR, you will be pivotal in this process. Working with key, senior staff in a specific area of the NHS, you will advise on opportunities for voluntary severance as well as playing a lead role in any consultation that arises from the programme.
However, this will not form the sole basis of the position and it is key that you also have extensive generalist experience as you will also manage a busy caseload, including complex disciplinary and grievance cases and varied employee relations issues.
It is important that you will have not only the credibility but also the empathy to deal with key stakeholders in the organisation at a time of major change and indeed prior change management experience would be a distinct bonus. Due to the technical knowledge needed to carry out the role effectively, a broad understanding of the NHS Agenda for Change will also be key.
You will previously have worked either at Business Partner or HR Manager level and will have experience of managing a team. It is also essential that you have a developed, up to date knowledge of employment law and will have advised on complex HR matters.
A background in a unionised environment is desirable as a CIPD qualification, ideally to MCIPD level.
In terms of personal characteristics, you will have excellent communication skills, be able to communicate sensitive information effectively and also have effective negotiating skills. Due to the fast paced nature of the role, it is also important that you are comfortable working to tight deadlines and are able to prioritise your workload effectively.
Initially interim until the end of March 2011, this is an exciting, interesting and challenging role and puts you at the heart of a major NHS-wide programme of change. The role is ideally to start immediately and if it interests you, you should apply immediately.
