Description

A major public sector organisation in the North East of England is seeking an experienced HR Officer to join their well established team.  Initially for 12 months, there is an opportunity for the role to develop into a full time position for the right candidate. 

Essentially, the organisation in question is looking for an excellent all-round HR generalist to join a busy, yet highly supportive team.  Particular emphasis will be placed on recruitment and selection but the preferred candidate will also play an active role in absence management, training, disciplinaries and grievances and offering advice on employment law issues to management.

As well as this, there will be the chance for the right person to become involved in specific project work, assisting the HR Manager with the development of new procedures and methods of working.

Previous public sector experience would be a major advantage, although of greater importance is a demonstrable track record as an HR generalist.  Good communication skills are also a must as the post holder will be liaising with staff across what is a large organisation.

The role will also ideally suit someone looking for part time work.  For the initial 12 months, the position will be for 30 hours a week and there is a level of flexibility as to how this can be worked, which would suit a candidate looking to work 4 days per week.
